With many areas of Alberta experiencing snow, freezing rain, and reduced visibility today, RMCP are reminding motorists to drive with caution.

Police are encouraging drivers to slow down and leave extra space between vehicles, turn on your lights to stay visible, and check road conditions before heading out.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for parts of Central Alberta, with some areas expected to see up to 20 cm before the snow ends tonight.

Red Deer will see cloudy skies today with periods of snow beginning this morning and a risk of freezing drizzle. Local blowing snow will hit the region late this afternoon with about 2 to 4 cm of snow anticipated throughout the day. North winds will gust to 50 km/h this afternoon. The high today is minus 1.

A fog advisory has also been issued for Red Deer and areas south.
