The Red Deer RCMP General Investigation Section have completed an investigation into an armed robbery at a business on Reichley Street.  

On Dec. 22, 2024, at approximately 06:32 a.m., Red Deer RCMP received a report of a panic alarm at the business.   

When police arrived, it was discovered that an unknown male had entered the business with a firearm, pointed it at the worker, and demanded money before fleeing in a Toyota SUV.  

As a result of the investigation, Robert Boy Idayan, a 49-year-old resident of Red Deer, has been charged with the following offences:  

  • Robbery – with a firearm x3  

  • Disguised with intent to commit offence x3  

He was released on an undertaking with conditions.   

He is scheduled to appear in court on March 31, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
