The Slave Lake RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle that had collided with a snowbank in the area of Main Street on March 14 at approximately 8:53 a.m.  

Officers located an SUV, which fled the area upon arrival, causing damage to a nearby business.  

The Slave Lake RCMP Crime Reduction Unit followed the suspect vehicle from a distance to ensure the safety of the public, as the suspect was driving in a dangerous manner.   

The vehicle stopped on Highway 2, leading to the arrest of the suspect.  

Kevin Joseph Brezuk, a 35-year-old resident of Red Deer, has been charged with the following offences:  

  • Operating a vehicle while prohibited  

  • Flight from Peace Officer  

  • Dangerous operation of motor vehicle  

  • Mischief over $5,000  

  • Failing to comply with probation order  

Brezuk was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a Release Order.   

He is scheduled to appear in court on April 9, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Slave Lake.
