If you want something to do in Rocky Mountain House this weekend, check out the 4th annual First Responders Face-Off for Charity.
This annual event features the Clearwater Regional Fire Rescue Services vs The Rocky Mountain House RCMP Detachment.
Devin Russell with fire services says it's for a great cause. "We're raising money for the Alberta Hunter Education program. There's a group up by Alder Flats that puts on a lot of school-type events for children around the area. So we're we're looking to donate to them this year."
Traditionally fire services and police departments have an unspoken rivalry. Russell says that may be true with this game as well. "Well, this is our fourth year doing this and we have had some pretty feisty games the first three years. So I would expect this year will be about the same.
There is pride on the line. The RCMP have beat us the last three years, so we're looking to change our luck and win this year and be able to rub that in their face."
Game time is this Saturday, March 22nd. Doors open at 5:30 pm with the game at 6 pm. There will be a special guest appearance by Jacob Ardown from On the Bench.
