Lacombe Police Service says that over the lunch hour on Wednesday (March 19), a group of young males were involved in an altercation outside of school grounds, which continued onto the property of Ècole Lacombe Junior High School. 

During this incident, one individual, who is not a student at the school, allegedly displayed a knife and caused damage to the school door. 

There were no injuries reported. 

Staff at Ècole Junior High School promptly contacted law enforcement and implemented safety protocols to ensure the ongoing safety of the students and staff. 

One male youth was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Mischief – Damage to property
  • Uttering threats

The matter is currently before the courts.
