With warmer weather on the way, many parents will be eager to sign their kids up for spring activities.

The best way to do that is to attend the Spring Active Living Fair in Lacombe, which is taking place Wednesday, April 2 at the Lacombe Memorial Centre from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Dani Ducross is executive director of the Lacombe Lifelong Learning Association.

"We've got some summer camps coming in that are going to be there to ask questions and have brochures and register," she said. "We're going to have some of the activity-based programs throughout the area coming in. We've got dance classes and theatre groups coming in."

Ducross notes there will also be many non-profit groups in attendance.

"The focus this year is a push on volunteer opportunities. We're really going to highlight places that are looking for volunteers with a little bit more detail on what they can expect if they want to volunteer for the various organizations."

There will also be a computer corner and a resume review corner for people who have questions about their devices or resumes.

Ducross says there will be lots of contests and games throughout the evening, including a scavenger hunt and a bunch of door prizes.

There will be demonstrations throughout the event to help keep everyone entertained.

This is the fourth year that the Spring Active Living Fair has taken place in Lacombe.

Ducross mentioned the spring fair is a bit smaller than the fall event, which has been around for about 50 years.
