The Blackfalds RCMP responded to 137 calls between March 11 to March 17. The calls included assaults, thefts, road side suspensions, and motor vehicle collisions.

The Blackfalds RCMP Detachment received 137 calls for service during the week of March 11 to March 17.  

The calls included four assaults, three breach of peace, one break and enter, two frauds, three mischiefs, five roadside suspensions, seven thefts, and 16 motor vehicle collisions.  

Here are the calls:

March 11  

  • A business in Blackfalds reported that it had been broken into. Copper wire, pumps, and a generator were stolen.   

  • A well-being check was requested for a male hitchhiking in Lacombe County. Police attended and transported the male to a safe location.  

March 12   

  • Police are investigating a complaint of distribution of intimate images without consent, that occurred in Blackfalds.   

  • A business in Blackfalds reported that they had found drugs on their bathroom floor. Police attended and seized the drugs.  

March 13  

  • One male was arrested and charged for assault, and uttering threats against a person that occurred in Blackfalds. He was later released on an undertaking with no contact conditions.   

  • Police attended the call of a dispute at a residence in Blackfalds. The situation was mediated, and upon arrival, one of the individuals involved left the property.  

March 14  

  • A call was received of a collision in Red Deer County where a semi failed to stop at an intersection and struck another vehicle. One female was transported to the hospital by EMS. The driver of the semi was charged for failing to stop at an intersection.   

  • Police attended the call of a possible intoxicated driver who had stopped with a flat tire. The male driver provided two breath samples which resulted in “Fail” readings. He was issued an IRS Suspension, and the vehicle was towed.   

  • One female was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and failure to comply with a court order in Red Deer County.  

March 15  

  • A business in Lacombe County reported that power cables worth over $5,000 had been stolen from multiple locations. The matter is under investigation.   

  • It was reported that an intoxicated male was causing a disturbance at a residence in Blackfalds. Before police arrival, the male drove away from the property. He was located and charged with Impaired Driving.  

March 16  

  • One male was arrested and charged for an assault that occurred in Red Deer County. He was later released on an undertaking with no contact conditions.   

  • It was reported that one individual was breaching the conditions of a restraining order. The matter is under investigation.   

  • Police, fire, and EMS attended a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Lacombe County. One of the drivers showed signs of alcohol impairment. He provided two breath samples which resulted in “Fail” readings. He was issued an IRS Suspension. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital by EMS with injuries.  

March 17  

  • A check stop was conducted for St. Patrick’s Day in Red Deer County. Members stopped over 40 vehicles. Several tickets and warnings were issued. No impaired drivers were located.   

  • Police are investigating the call that a dumpster had been started on fire behind a business in Red Deer County. Fire also attended and put out the blaze.
