The Innisfail Eagles are one win away from capturing the North Central Senior AA Hockey League championship after a 5-1 victory at Twin Arena on Friday night.
The series shifts back to Lacombe on Saturday night (March 22) for Game 5.
Zachary Evans-Renaud opened the scoring for the Eagles with 7:07 remaining in the first period.
The Generals responded midway through the second with Ryan Swier finding the back of the net for Lacombe.
Innisfail would explode for four goals in the final period including a pair by Dave Nippard and empty net goals by Chase Thudium and Ty Clay.
Evans-Renaud, Thudium, and Nippard would finish the game with 2 points each for the Eagles.
Innisfail outshot Lacombe 37-29 on the night. The Eagles were 0-for-6 on the powerplay while the Generals went 0-for-3.
Innisfail went up 2-0 in the best-of-seven final before Lacombe rallied with a win last Sunday.
Puck drop Saturday night at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex in Lacombe is 7:45 p.m.
Tickets for the game are $10 at the door. Students and seniors are $8.
Game 6, if necessary, would take place in Innisfail Saturday night (March 29), with Game 7 slated for Sunday afternoon (March 30) in Lacombe, if required.
