It's been a hot start for Team Canada at the BKT World Men's Curling Championship at the Temple Gardens Centre.

Canada defeated South Korea 9-3 in the afternoon draw to move to 3-0 to remain atop the standings.

Canada opened with the hammer. Jacobs drew to the side of the button for three to start the game. In the second, Canada forced Korea to draw for their single point.

After Korean skip Hyojun Kim came up light on his last rock, Jacobs drew a piece of the button for two to give Canada a 5-1 lead after three ends.

In the fourth, Kim made an open hit for one. Korea had an opportunity on the fifth to force a blank end. However, Kim missed a double takeout and gave Jacobs an open draw for two to take a 7-2 into the fifth end break.

Kim attempted to slice his own rock over in the sixth end to score multiple points. He just missed making contact but was still able to score one point in the end.

Canada blanked the seventh end and was left with a soft takeout in the eighth which Jacobs made for two for the 9-3 victory

The big test for Canada will come during tomorrow afternoon's draw 2 p.m. when Canada will take on Bruce Mouat and Team Scotland in a first-place showdown.
