The u18 Southeast Apex Gold Wings have claimed the first provincial title in their history, after staging a comeback in Game three on the weekend.
Previously, the team had a rough start, losing to their opponents, the Warman Wildcats, 3-1 on Friday, March 21.
They managed to come back later in the weekend with a win on Sunday, March 23, 4-2, tying up the series.
The two teams then met yesterday to determine who would take home the title.
The Warman Wildcats came out strong, taking early lead with two goals in the first that went unanswered.
The Gold Wings replied with four unanswered goals of their own over the second and third, securing the title with a 4-2 victory.
Golden wings corers included, in order, Hadley Gerle, Elizabeth Gill, Samara Seghers, and Ella Schenher.
