The Blackfalds RCMP Detachment responded to 118 calls for service between March 18 - 24. The calls included an assault, break and enter, criminal harassment, thefts, and motor vehicle collisions.

The Blackfalds RCMP Detachment received 118 calls for service between March 18 and March 24. 

The calls included one assault, five breach of peace, two break and enters into a business, one criminal harassment, three mischiefs, four thefts, three thefts of motor vehicles, and eight motor vehicle collisions. 

Here are the calls: 

March 18 

  • A call was received of a dispute at a residence in Lacombe County. Police attended and determined alcohol was a factor. The situation was mediated and both individuals agreed to separate for the rest of the night. 

  • Police assisted the Blackfalds Peace Officers with a male who had outstanding warrants. A JIR Hearing was conducted and the male was remanded. 

March 19 

  • A motel in Gasoline Alley reported that a male was causing a disturbance over payment issues. Police attended and de-escalated the situation. The male then agreed to leave the property.  

  • A call was received of Careless Use of a Firearm. Police attended and determined it to be a neighbour dispute and the firearm had not been pointed or discharged in an inappropriate manner. The situation was mediated. 

March 20 

  • It was reported that a male was acting erratically and had been using drugs at a residence in Blackfalds. The male was arrested and transported to cells. He was released once sober.  

  • Police are investigating the break and enter of a plane hangar that occurred in Red Deer County. 

March 21 

  • A call was received of a dispute at a residence in Blackfalds. One female was intoxicated and continued to escalate with Police. She was arrested to prevent breach of peace, and transported to cells. 

  • Fire requested Police assistance with a fire at a homeless camp in Red Deer County. The fire was contained. 

March 22 

  • A business in Lacombe County reported that their gas site had been entered and copper wire worth over $5,000 had been stolen.  

  • Police are investigating the complaint of an assault that occurred at a business in Blackfalds.  

  • While on patrol Police observed a vehicle speeding and swerving on the road in Blackfalds. A roadside stop was conducted. The male driver provided breath samples which resulted in “Fail” readings. He was issued an IRS Suspension and the vehicle was towed. 

March 23 

  • One male was located and arrested for outstanding warrants in Red Deer County. A JIR Hearing was conducted.  

  • A business in Gasoline Alley reported that a male had shoplifted property under $5,000. The matter is under investigation. 

March 24 

  • EMS requested Police assistance with an intoxicated and uncooperative male. EMS was later able to transport the male to the hospital.  

  • Police, Fire and EMS attended a two-vehicle injury collision in Lacombe County. No drugs or alcohol were suspected.
