The Living Skies Music Festival will be back in Humboldt this year for the second time and it’s shaping up to be an even bigger event.
After a one-day event in 2024, the Living Skies Music Festival will be expanding to a two-day event, with one day featuring rock music and a second day with country music.
On the weekend, the first bands announced for the festival were announced. Big Wreck along with Wide Mouth Mason and Captain Tractor will be performing on Saturday, June 28.
The following night, Sunday June 29, the entertainment will feature Jade Eagleson, Aaron Goodwin and the Johner Brothers.
Organizer Tarrell Sterner says that more bands will be added to the lineup in the near future.
The Living Skies Music Festival will be held in conjunction with the Summer Sizzler, as the stage will be in its same location on the south end of the Uniplex grounds.
Sterner wanted to have the entire family have enjoyable experience with the festival and sizzler going on at the same time.
“It’s a great opportunity to make it family friendly. Midways and the music festival go very well together. They got complimentary crowds and that works well for both the rock and country days.”
Another change to this year’s festival will be the start and closing times. Sterner says doors will open at 3:00 pm, with music continuing until 12:30 am.
After last year’s event, Sterner says they received raving reviews from the community.
“Everybody had a great time. We didn’t have any negative feedback.”
A popular feature from last year’s festival, the food trucks will be returning once again on site.
The production setup will be like last year with two giant video screens located beside the stage.
There will be some modifications to the VIP area, as there will be the addition of some yard games and Sterner says they will be providing some lawn chairs to the VIP area along with some personal servers.
Sterner grew up in Lake Lenore and is thrilled to bring a big event to the area.
“This has been a long-term prideful thing to try and bring back home. So very excited to be coming back for a second year.”
He added there was plenty of local support that made the 2024 edition of the Living Skies Music Festival a success.
“We had some phenomenal support from the local business community and even from individuals.”
Tickets for the event are now available. The kickoff prices will be available until April 20, and include VIP Weekend Passes, General Admission Passes and Youth Weekend Passes.
Advanced ticket pricing will be available until June 8.
