At United Way Estevan's AGM, finances were discussed, including just how much went to member agencies over their 2024 period. That was read off by Angela Stepp, a senior manager from MNP, with the company putting together the report.
Stepp says that the report came back with good marks for the organization.
"Very similar to last year, the audited financial statements do have a qualification on them, generated because of the donation and fundraising revenue that the United Way has. All in all, a clean audit opinion from MNP."
Stepp says that United Way Estevan had a great year, reflected in the financials in the report.
"The biggest changes on your financial position statement would be the member allocation payable of $307,000 compared to last year's $278,000. So goes to all of the hard work from everybody in this room tonight, and those who couldn't be here, to show that we are able to allocate additional funds to the member agencies this year."
For revenues and expenses, Stepp reported that revenues had dropped this year compared to the last, earning $454,000 compared to the previous $514,000.
Stepp pointed out that due to some special projects money making up that difference, this year's donations were actually higher, with an increase of $55,000 for revenue.
That's put the organization into good financial standing, with some money to carry into the new budget year.
"Along with some expenses and obviously the member allocation payable, you're ending the year with an excess of revenue over expenses of $18,000. A very successful year, and those are the statements that will presented to be approved."
The board for United Way Estevan agreed to work with MNP to produce their next financial report.
