The South East Cornerstone Public School Division approved the 2025-26 school calendar at their meeting last week. The calendar will see the students in class for 184 days, with a total of 13 non-instructional days. The majority of the non-instructional days take place before and after the end of the in-class days.
For students, the school year will start on September 2nd, the day after Labour Day. For teachers, though, the year will start on the 25th with a number of professional development days as well as time to prepare the classroom for the year.
The last day of classes before Christmas will be on December 19th, with students returning to the classroom on January 5th. The February break will be from the 16th to the 20th, and Easter break will run from April 3rd to April 10th, with classes resuming on the 13th.
The last day of classes in the 2025-26 school year will be on June 26th.
The calendar for the South East Cornerstone Public School Division will be used by the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division. This is due in part to the two school systems being closely connected in the communities of the southeast, as well as shared transportation in many rural areas.
