It was another strong month for building permits, according to data released by the City of Moose Jaw.

The projected value of building permits in March was up 7.76 per cent compared to the same month last year.

Of the 13 permits issued last month, three were for commercial projects, totaling $560,000; three were for institutional and government projects, with a total value of $291,100; and seven were issued for residential projects, with a projected value of $184,765.

Between Jan. 1 and Mar. 31, 2025, a total of 32 building permits were issued, with a project value of $11,006,120, marking a 223.5 per cent increase over the same period last year. This increase was driven largely by two commercial construction permits issued in February, both worth $4.1 million.

While the total number of permits issued increased in March, there were no new dwelling permits issued.
