It is with great sadness the family of Leonard James Spate announce his passing.
He passed away peacefully on March 26th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, at the Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility.
At Leonard’s request, no formal service will be held at this time.
Leonard is survived by his wife Marjory Spate (Pollock), Children; Kevin Spate and Janice Spate (Jeff Collins), Grandchildren; Kase Spate, Logan Spate, and Ethan Collins, sister; Clara Derksen, Nephew; Roger Stolson (Susan Stolson), Niece; Valerie Stolson, Brother-in-Laws; Allen Pollock and Bob Pollock, and many more Nieces and Nephews.
He was predeceased by his Mother and Father Henry and Gretta Spate (Montgomery).
Leonard was born February 24, 1940 and married the love of his life Marj on April 13th 1962. Leonard lived his life doing what he loved from yearly trips with Marj to Arizona then eventually Mexico every winter, summers camping and fishing at Palliser Park, hunting, raising elk, growing crops, teaching his grandkids to drive, and many roadside chats with friends & family, talking about the weather, the land & how the cow/crop market was looking like.
Leonard will be greatly missed by his family, and friends.
