Dates have been announced for a couple of Federal Election Forums being held in the Ponoka-Didsbury Riding.

The Ponoka & District Chamber of Commerce is hosting an All-Candidates Forum on Tuesday, April 15 at the Moose Lodge No.1633 Ponoka, (5000 – Hwy 2A).

Doors will open at 6:30 pm, with the forum running from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The forum will focus on key issues impacting the local community, providing insights into each candidate’s platform and vision for the region.

If time allows, there may be an open question and answer period, however, residents are encouraged to submit their questions in advance to ensure inclusion in the process, by email to admin@ponokachamber.ca.

“This event is an essential opportunity for voters to engage with the candidates and hear their plans for our community and our country,” said Sherry Gummow, President of the Ponoka & District Chamber of Commerce. “We encourage all residents of Ponoka and Ponoka County to attend and be part of the democratic process.”

The candidates for the Ponoka-Disbury riding, as of April 2, are:

  • Grant Abraham, United Party of Canada
  • Blaine Calkins, Conservative Party of Canada
  • Larry Gratton, People’s Party of Canada
  • Logan Hooley, NDP

Meanwhile, the Lacombe & District Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Federal Election Forum on April 23 at the Lacombe Memorial Centre starting at 6:30 p.m.

Election day is April 28, with advance voting taking place April 18 - 21.
