Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools (RDCRS) has nominated St. Joseph High School humanities/CTS teacher Jillian Klevyer for the Edwin Parr Award.
Klevyer said she is grateful for the nomination.
“My goal as an educator is to create a nurturing and inspiring environment where every student can thrive,” she said. “I am passionate about fostering a love for learning and empowering students to become compassionate and engaged members of our community.”
Gary Gylander, St. Joseph High School Principal said Klevyer’s passion and commitment have set her apart since joining the school community this year.
“Jillian has quickly distinguished herself as an outstanding educator, creating a dynamic, inclusive, and engaging learning environment,” Gylander said. “She has developed strong relationships with students through daily connections and ensures that every student feels valued and supported.”
Murray Hollman, RDCRS Board Chair explained that Klevyer was nominated because she is an exemplary educator, a compassionate mentor, and a dedicated leader.
“Her ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment demonstrates her commitment to student success. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, as she actively supports school events and community service, and integrates her faith into her teaching,” he said. “We are immensely proud to recognize her achievements and the incredible impact she has had in her first year of teaching.”
The Edwin Parr Award honours six outstanding first-year Kindergarten to Grade 12 teachers who have taught in an ASBA member school board.
The award winner will be announced at a ceremony on May 26, at the Innisfail Golf Club.
