More than 200 southwest residents and rural community members can expect to experience a planned power outage this morning to allow for the completion of much-needed work.

The outage will affect folks in Portreeve, Lancer, Lemsford, areas between Abbey and Sceptre, north and south of Highway 32, and more from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Joel Cherry, spokesperson for SaskPower, noted that planned outages like these are essential to help prevent unplanned outages in the future.

"The outage is necessary to replace some poles, and there's going to be 230 customers that are affected," he said.

Cherry highlighted that they always appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.
