Blackfalds residents are encouraged to support the local food bank by participating in the annual "Stuff a Bus" Food Drive on Saturday, April 5th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event aims to collect non-perishable food items for the Beyond Food Community Hub, the Blackfalds Food Bank, and Blackfalds Family & Community Support Services (FCSS).
School buses will be stationed at two locations in Blackfalds to receive donations:
- IGA (6005 Parkwood Road)
- Save On Foods (4500 Blackfalds Crossing Way, #105)
"We are calling on the generosity of our community to help stock the shelves of our local food banks," said Brenda Dennis, Administration Assistant with Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools’ (RDCRS) Transportation Department. "Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity in Blackfalds."
Residents are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, and other pantry staples.
Monetary donations can also be made directly to the Blackfalds Food Bank.
