Scotland picked up a 8-6 win over the United States in the Thursday afternoon draw at the BKT World Men's Curling Championship at Temple Gardens Centre.

The win moves Scotland at 7-3 to keep them in the playoff hunt as they currently sit in third place. The United States drops to 4-5 and will now have a difficult time making to the weekend.

The United States kept the game close until Scotland scored three in the eighth end with the hammer.

Also in the afternoon draw, China continues to fall down the standing. After starting the championship 6-1, they have now lost three straight after dropping a 7-6 decision to Japan. Trailing in the ninth end, China scored three to tie the game but Japan was able to draw for one to take the win.

Czechia stole one in the third end and four in the fourth for a 7-2 win over Austria.

Italy stole three in the third end and scored four with the last rock in the seventh as they took down Germany 9-3.

A big matchup in tonight's draw at 7 p.m., first-place Canada will be taking on second-place Switzerland. Also on the ice tonight will be Korea versus the United States, Norway against Japan and Sweden faces off against Czechia.
