Kenny M'Pindou, a bobsledder and motivational speaker, is trying to inspire the next generation of athletes, particularly young people with Olympic dreams.                                                                                                                                                                                  Over the past two years, he has been visiting school after school, where he serves as a mentor, sharing his experiences and guiding students toward their potential. During a recent visit to a local school, M'Pindou discussed his journey, reflecting on his challenges and how he uses his experiences to motivate others.

M'Pindou's visit to Shaunavon Public School is part of his ongoing commitment to inspiring the next wave of Olympians. "I've always felt that sports have a special way of shaping us, not just physically but mentally as well," he shared. His role as a mentor allows him to connect with young athletes.

M'Pindou's passion for sports, particularly bobsledding, was influenced by his mother. She introduced him to the world of athletics, and through her support, he discovered his unique talent. For M'Pindou, sports have always been more than just a physical activity.                                                                                                                                                                     They've been a form of self-expression, a way to overcome obstacles and a tool for personal growth.
A strong advocate for providing exposure and opportunities, M'Pindou emphasized the importance of having access to sports in smaller towns.                                                                                                                                                                                                         "When you come from a small town, you don't always see the full range of possibilities for your future," he said. "It's essential to show young people that they can achieve whatever they put their minds to, no matter where they come from."

M'Pindou's experience has shown him that talent exists everywhere, and what is often missing is exposure to the right opportunities. He believes his role as a mentor is to create a bridge for these young athletes, helping them connect with the resources and knowledge they need to thrive.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             "If I can be a source of motivation for them, to show them that it's possible to break through those barriers, then I've done my job," Kenny shared.

As M'Pindou wrapped up his visit, he reflected on the lessons he'd learned over the years, lessons of passion, dedication, and the importance of believing in oneself.
