Estevan Fire Rescue laid out their latest reports from the Estevan community, after a couple of weeks featuring no new reports.

Ending the month of March on the 31st, a call came in around 3:30 p.m. for a commercial fire alarm in the Northeast area of the city. After responding, a crew found the alarm was due to a cooking incident and helped reset the alarm.

The first call of the month on April 1st was no joke as a crew was dispatched around 7:40 p.m. to a semi fire occurring just west of the city. By the time a crew arrived, the fires were mostly extinguished, with the crew extinguishing those fully. No injuries were reported in the incident.

April 4 had a call come in around 12:30 p.m. with a crew being alerted that a dog had fallen through the ice near Woodlawn Park. After responding, the crew located the dog's owner on the scene and confirmed that the dog had made it out of the river and returned home.

A bit later at 1 p.m., a crew was dispatched for mutual aid to deal with a fire occurring at a commercial property in the Southeast area of the city. The crew assisted in extinguishing the fire, with no injuries reported from the incident. The current extent of the damage is unknown at this time.

The next day, on April 5, at around 10:45 a.m., a crew headed out to deal with a grass fire reported in the North of the city. After responding, the crew quickly brought the fire under control and extinguished it. They reported no injuries or damages at the scene.

That afternoon at 2:25 p.m., a commercial fire alarm saw a crew dispatched to the Northeast area of the city. Upon responding to the scene, the crew found there was no emergency occurring, with the alarm due to a malfunction with the sprinkler system.

Ending the week's reports, a crew was called out on April 6th at around 1:30 p.m. to a grass fire south of the city. The crew located the fire within a farmyard with a small outbuilding caught up in the flames. Crews brought the fire under control and extinguished it without incident. No injuries were reported, and damage was limited to two outbuildings and some small equipment around the yard.
