Graduating Swift Current Broncos defenceman Hunter Mayo is off to Merrimack College in the NCAA.
Mayo's commitment means all three overage Broncos players earned NCAA opportunities for next season in the first season WHL players are eligible to play down south.
"They've earned (the opportunities), they deserve them," said Broncos General Manager Chad Leslie. "I'm really happy for our guys that are graduating."
Mayo had 27 points in 27 games for swift Current after coming over from Red Deer at the trade deadline.
"We were fortunate that we had impactful 20s," Leslie said. "They deserve what they're getting."
Mayo follows Carlin Dezainde's commitment to Connecticut and Reid Dyck heading to Colgate.
It's the first year that WHL players are eligible to commit to NCAA programs after a rule change in American college hockey.
