Estevan Police Service responded to several calls over the past two days, including a domestic disturbance, wellbeing check, noise complaints, and a report of a potential scam.
On April 9, police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance occurring in the parking lot of a north-central business. It was determined a verbal argument had taken place, but nothing criminal occurred. The matter was mediated and those involved were sent on their way.
Officers responded to an anonymous request for a wellbeing check on a youth who had not returned home. By the time police arrived, the youth had been located and was safe in the company of their parents.
A resident was warned under the noise bylaw following complaints of a barking dog during the night shift.
The following day, EPS received a report of a vehicle approaching Estevan on Highway 39 at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was located and issued a written warning, as the driver had reduced their speed before police made contact.
An attempted bitcoin scam was reported. No money was lost and no personal information was provided.
Members assisted with keeping the peace as an individual was asked to leave a residence where they had been staying temporarily. All parties were cooperative and no criminal activity took place.
Police received a report of a noise complaint, possibly involving breaking glass. Officers attended and found that two individuals had been arguing at a residence. One of them chose to leave and stay in an outbuilding on the property.
