If you are planning on heading to the mountains, or areas to the Southwest of Alberta, watch for snowfall and slippery road conditions.
Just after 11 am, Saturday, April 12th, Environment Canada issued a Snowfall warning.
Heavy snowfall is expected in portions of the Rockies today and tonight, with local accumulations of 10 to 20 cm.
Snowfall amounts will be variable, but snow may accumulate rapidly over some locations, particularly over higher terrain.
Snowfall has begun over portions of Banff National Park and will spread south into the Canmore-Kananaskis region early this afternoon and the Pincher Creek region tonight.
Snow will taper off later tonight.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
