The Federal Election Forum that was scheduled to take place on April 23 in Lacombe has been cancelled due to a lack of participation from the candidates.
In a news release, the Lacombe & District Chamber of Commerce says: "Despite early planning and outreach, only a couple of candidates had confirmed their participation in the event. A recent, last-minute withdrawal from one of the confirmed candidates due to a family emergency has further reduced attendance, making it clear that the Chamber cannot deliver a forum that is fair, balanced, and representative of the full candidate roster."

“We understand how important these forums are in helping residents make informed decisions, but without broader participation, we do not feel it would serve the community or be a fair use of time for the remaining candidates,” added executive director Wendy Buyar.

- Grant Abraham, United Party of Canada
- Blaine Calkins, Conservative Party of Canada
- Larry Gratton, People’s Party of Canada

Election day is April 28, with advance voting taking place April 18 - 21.
