Winnipeg police are asking for the public’s help in locating two suspects wanted in connection with a double homicide that occurred earlier this year in the North End.

Canada-wide warrants have been issued for 24-year-old Jermain Gage Houle for second-degree murder, and 27-year-old Aaron Junior Houle for accessory after the fact. Investigators believe they are responsible for the February shooting deaths of Sheldon Derrach Catcheway, 33, and Shanastene Irene McLeod, 35.

Both victims were found with upper body injuries following reports of gunfire in the 300 block of Alfred Avenue around 4:15 a.m. on Feb. 15. Catcheway was located outside the residence, while McLeod was found inside. They were taken to hospital in critical condition but later died.

Catcheway was a member of Swan Lake First Nation and McLeod was from Muskowekwan First Nation in Saskatchewan. Both lived in Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Police Service says the Houle brothers should not be approached as they may be armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-TIPS (8477) or winnipegcrimestoppers.org.
