Another significant corporate donation for the Southwest Facility Foundation.
They've received a $25,000 commitment from Fieldstone Energy.
"They kind of approach us and ask how they can partake in helping the cause here," said Vim Parmar of the SWFF Board of Directors. "They are a local minded company, and they have an interest in the community in all of the southwest. They talked to their staff and then the families and said here's what we would like to do for Swift Current."
The Foundation has raised or received commitments for over $3.9 Million since October 2023.
They're seeing momentum from those donations kind of snowball.
"It's a message that keeps getting stronger and stronger," Parmar said. "The company came to us and said this is a decision that was made by all of us, and we fully support it from all the way from the top down. This is something we want to see back to the communities and not just for the present generation, but for future generations to come."
The SWFF raise funds to support future recreation facility construction projects approved by the City of Swift Current.
"We're seeing more and more of that all the time," Parmar said. "Regardless of the sector we're representing, whether it's ag, oil field, construction, whatever, everyone's getting behind this, everyone's asking coming to us now and saying how can we help the cause, and I think it sends the right message to our different levels of government and to the city."
