Rylan Silzer has played his entire hockey career in Saskatchewan.
The Swift Current native has decided to continue that trend by committing to the University of Regina Cougars to play U Sports starting this fall.
"It's just a perfect spot," Silzer said. "It's close to home and it's a goal of mine to play U Sports."
The former La Ronge Ice Wolf won the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Year Award in his final junior season.
He is happy to continue playing in his home province.
"It's a great feeling," Silzer said. "To represent Saskatchewan for pretty much all my career, it's great."
Silzer finished third among SJHL defenceman with 42 points in 2024-25.
He plans to take business at school and isn't ruling out playing professionally when his college career is over.
