Wilkie RCMP responded to a variety of calls for service between April 1 and 14, ranging from thefts and assault to mental health concerns and public assistance.

RCMP are actively investigating several theft-related incidents and two complaints of criminal harassment. A complaint of a stolen truck was deemed unfounded following police investigation.

A youth has been charged with assault after officers responded to a complaint, while police also continue to investigate a report of uttering threats.

Officers responded to a complaint of fraud and an abandoned vehicle that was determined to have been stolen from North Battleford, though insufficient evidence prevented further action in both cases.

Wilkie RCMP also received two Mental Health Act-related complaints during the reporting period, speaking to the individuals involved in both cases. Police were also called upon to assist Emergency Medical Services with a patient and conducted a wellbeing check at the request of a concerned citizen.

RCMP members mediated two disputes between adults, and also addressed concerns related to child custody and child welfare. In the latter case, a referral was made to Child and Family Services.

Police received reports regarding both a lost and a found wallet. While the lost wallet was not recovered, the found wallet was returned to its rightful owner.

In total, officers also responded to one traffic complaint, one false alarm, one false 911 call and one noise complaint.

Wilkie RCMP encourage residents to report suspicious activity and crimes by contacting the detachment or calling Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
