Drivers across Central Alberta are being urged to take extra caution this morning after the region received a fresh blanket of snow overnight.

Road conditions have deteriorated in several areas, with the QEII listed as snow-covered and slippery. Rain is also falling some areas.

The primary road condition is covered snow, with secondary hazards including icy sections, slush, and snow accumulation on shoulders.

Visibility remains fair, though local blowing snow may impact driving at times.

Motorists are reminded to slow down, leave extra space, and to be prepared for sudden changes in road conditions.

Crews are actively working to clear and treat highways, but travelers should expect delays and plan accordingly.

The forecast for Tuesday is calling for a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of flurries early this morning. The high for Tuesday is eight degrees.

Drivers can check 511 Alberta for the latest road updates.
