Tourism Red Deer has launched a new marketing campaign aimed at encouraging travelers to explore more than just the usual pit stop along Highway 2. The “Highway 2 More!” campaign is designed to highlight the range of attractions and experiences that the Red Deer region has to offer, inviting visitors and locals to venture beyond the highway’s main routes.

According to Jesse Smith, CEO of Tourism Red Deer, the campaign is about uncovering the lesser-known aspects of the area. “‘Highway 2 More!’ is all about shining a spotlight on the hidden gems that make our region a destination worth exploring,” Smith said. “From scenic trails and authentic agritourism to exciting events and one-of-a-kind adventures, we want travelers to see that Red Deer isn’t just a stop along the highway — it’s a place where unforgettable experiences and lasting memories begin.”

The campaign places a particular focus on the region’s outdoor activities, cultural offerings, and the local community. It encourages people to take time to discover the variety of experiences that await just off the main highway.

In addition to the campaign’s promotional videos, which include a full-length commercial as well as shorter clips for social media platforms, Tourism Red Deer is providing information about local attractions, events, and hidden spots for those looking to explore beyond the usual routes.

The first videos in the campaign will debut on April 10, 2025, and will highlight activities such as hiking, local food experiences, and events that visitors might otherwise miss while driving through the area.
