A 46-year-old man from Regina Beach is facing multiple firearms-related charges following a high-risk incident over the weekend that saw the theft of a motorhome and several weapons from a residence in Buena Vista.
Lumsden RCMP received a report of a stolen motorhome around 3 p.m. on April 19. According to police, the motorhome was taken without the owner's consent from a property on Highwood Avenue, along with a firearm and ammunition.
Roughly two and a half hours later, the stolen vehicle was located outside a residence on Woodland Crescent in Regina Beach. RCMP members from Lumsden and Southey detachments, supported by Police Dog Services, the Regina Police Service Combined Traffic Services, and the RPS Aerial Support Unit, responded to the scene and contained the area.
Due to the potential threat involving stolen firearms, police requested that nearby residents remain indoors. Additional officers were called in to manage public safety and crowd control.
A man and a woman were arrested without incident in the motorhome. During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered two firearms and loaded magazines. A subsequent search warrant executed at the Woodland Crescent residence uncovered three more firearms, loaded magazines, a baton and a knife.
Jackson Bishop, 46, of Regina Beach, faces several charges under the Criminal Code, including:

Three counts of contravention of firearm regulations (s. 86(2))
-
Possession of a restricted firearm at an unauthorized place (s. 93)
