As spring arrives in Olds, the Town has announced the return of two popular clean-up programs designed to help residents refresh their homes and contribute to a cleaner, more vibrant community. The 2025 Kick It to the Curb event and the Pop-Up Transfer Station provide easy and free opportunities for everyone to get involved.

Kick It to the Curb: May 9–11 (Friday to Sunday)
The Kick It to the Curb event allows residents to place gently used items at the curb marked “FREE” for others to take. Whether it's furniture, toys, tools, or other household items, it’s a great way to clear out unwanted items while helping others find things they may need. Participants are reminded to remove any remaining items after the weekend and consider donating them to local second-hand stores. The community can also share what they're giving away or find items by using the hashtag #OldsKickIt2025 and posting to the event’s Facebook page.

Pop-Up Transfer Station: May 23–24 (Friday and Saturday)
The Pop-Up Transfer Station is another valuable event that helps residents safely dispose of household waste and hazardous materials. This two-day event will be held at the Town of Olds Operations Center, located at 3501 70 Avenue. On Friday, May 23, the event will run from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Saturday, May 24, it will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Residents can bring items like paint, tires, batteries, and lightbulbs to dispose of without the hassle of driving out of town or paying disposal fees. Each household is allowed to dispose of one level truck-bed load of items. Hazardous materials will be accepted on both days, but registration is required and must be completed between May 1 and May 22. To register and view a complete list of accepted materials, visit www.olds.ca/springcleanup.

These spring clean-up initiatives are designed to support a cleaner, more organized community, and the Town of Olds encourages all residents to participate. By joining in these events, residents help make Olds a better place to live while promoting sustainability and community involvement.
