An afternoon of elegance and purpose is planned for May 31 as the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre hosts its 3rd Annual Ladies’ Afternoon Tea in support of the Aerie Maternity Home program.
The event takes place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Crossroads Church Chapel in Red Deer. Doors open at 1 p.m.
Guests are invited to dress in English garden attire, with fascinators and hats encouraged, for an afternoon of tea, pastries and inspiration. Open to attendees aged 12 and older, the event aims to raise funds and awareness for the Aerie program, which provides a safe and supportive home for pregnant teens and young women.
The Aerie is a two-phase maternity home program offering 24/7 care and a trauma-informed environment. It supports up to 11 women at a time and focuses on life skills, parenting education and emotional wellness.
Operated by the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre, the program is one of several initiatives offered by the organization, which has been serving families across the region for more than 30 years. CAPCC also provides pregnancy and birth education, parenting support, financial literacy programs, and after-abortion and pregnancy-related grief support.
The organization serves 300 to 400 clients each year through its centres in Red Deer, Rocky Mountain House and Stettler, with nearly 2,000 client visits annually.
Funds raised from the tea will go directly toward supporting the women and children served by the Aerie Maternity Home.
