Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie campaign returns from April 28 to May 4, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lacombe and District (BBBS) are rolling up their sleeves with a small army of volunteers to put some smiles on.

“We have really felt the love when it comes to the number of individuals, groups, and organizations who have signed up to help decorate cookies throughout the week,” says Jen Harty, community engagement director for BBBS Lacombe.

The BBBS team put out the call for help on their socials and the community stepped up, with approximately 52 volunteers signing up to decorate cookies during the campaign.

“It’s the volunteers that we have that really bring it together. They take time out of their busy days and their busy schedules to go support us and decorate those smile cookies,” comments Harty.

“And it’s actually cool, because Smile Cookie week lines up with volunteer appreciation week this year, so it’s definitely a highlight for us and we love to see all the smiling faces, the connections between the volunteers and the community, just spreading a lot of joy and a lot of smile cookies.”

The annual Smile Cookie campaign sees 100 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of Smile Cookies go to supporting the local BBBS chapter.
