The Town of Rocky Mountain House has issued a fire advisory as of April 25 due to dry, warm and windy conditions in the area.

While the advisory does not currently ban all fires, residents are reminded to be cautious and follow approved guidelines.

Allowed during the advisory:

  • Safe wood campfires on private land, including backyard fire pits
  • Charcoal briquette barbecues
  • Gas and liquid-powered appliances, such as propane stoves, lanterns and fire rings
  • Open flame oil devices like turkey deep fryers and tiki torches
  • Indoor wood-burning fires in approved devices with chimneys and spark arrestors
  • CSA-approved cooking, warming and lighting devices, used according to manufacturer instructions

The Town also stressed that users are responsible for the care and supervision of all fires and heat sources at all times.
