At approximately 3:15pm Monday afternoon Niverville and St. Pierre Jolys RCMP officers responded to a school bus that had rolled on Highway 75 near Ste. Agathe.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred on the northbound lanes side of Highway 75 on the south end of Ste. Agathe. In addition to RCMP, other emergency responders were also on scene.
According to information released by the RCMP Monday evening, the bus was brand new, and being delivered to Winnipeg from outside the province. A semi passed the bus on the passing lane, and that combined with the strong winds Monday afternoon, caused the driver to lose control and roll into the ditch.
The 36-year-old male driver of the bus was the only occupant and was assisted by bystanders to get out safely. He sustained only minor injuries.
