Dress for Success Central Alberta (DFSCA) is celebrating 15 years of supporting women on their journey to economic independence.
The organization began operations in Red Deer in October 2008 and received official charity status on April 30, 2010.
Since then, DFSCA has helped thousands of local women through career services, leadership programs, styling services and community outreach initiatives.
In 2024, more than 600 women accessed DFSCA’s programming.
The styling program helped 268 women secure employment, while 156 received interview styling support and 112 accessed employment styling resources.
DFSCA’s mission is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, who collectively contributed 2,500 hours last year.
“We know that to truly empower women economically and support them to achieve their highest potential, we need to invest in a continuum of pre-employment and job-retention training but also make sure they have access to professional networks and a community of support,” said Erin Forbes, Executive Director of DFSCA.
“Our growth over the past two years has been significant, and we know there is more that can be done to support our clients and community,” she added.
Looking ahead, DFSCA has a bold strategic plan to expand its services to better meet the needs of Central Alberta and become a respected resource for workforce development for women.
