Update: Fire destroys multi-family home in Ponoka

The Lacombe Fire Department was dispatched to assist Ponoka County Fire Services with a structure fire on the 46 Street block of 39 Avenue in Ponoka.

A multi-family residential building at 3905 46th St. was destroyed in the blaze.

There are no reports of injuries, and the cause of the fire is not yet known.

An investigation has started to determine the cause of the fire.

On a Ponoka social media site, organizers are already setting up a donation box for the families.
