Dallen Oxelgren played his entire junior hockey career with the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings. As a product of Weyburn, Dallen would work his way to becoming an everyday, physically dominant shutdown defenseman. I chatted with him about his time as a Red Wing, what it was like playing in his hometown, and what the future may hold for Dallen Oxelgren. Dylan: Alright, so first, I'll get you state your full name and the hockey team you played for.
Dallen: Dallen Oxelgren and I played in Weyburn.
Dylan: And you played your entire junior career in Weyburn. Three full seasons you’re a Weyburn player. We’ll first start with this year. I mean, now we're at the award ceremony here, recapping the 2024-2025 year. What was it like for you out on the ice?
Dallen: It was great playing in my hometown, I felt really honored to play at my, playing on the Wings these last three years.
Dylan: Yeah, for sure, said, especially for a hometown guy, playing three years with this organization, what was it like, you know, seeing family and friends out in the stands and, you know, being able to be a part of that?
Dallen: Yeah, it felt great being a play at home, like staying at home, seeing buddies in the stands and just made three years of hockey great.
Dylan: For sure. And now finally, you've graduated out. You haven't committed to playing anywhere farther on, so maybe what does the future look like for Dallen Oxelgren? I know you guys farm around here. Are you thinking of heading back or maybe heading to school? What's it looking like?
Dallen: Farming as of right now and once the hockey season comes, I think it will be some senior hockey.
Dylan: For sure, well sounds good thanks Dallen.
