KETTLER - Susan Ann was born March 18, 1961 in Cabri Hospital to Joseph and Regina Geissler and passed away on May 8, 2025 at the young age of 64 years with her family at her side. She leaves to mourn her husband of 44 years, Richard Kettler, their daughter Amy (Peter) Herauf and their children Katelyn and Dylan and their son Michael (Lacey) Kettler. She also is survived by her mother Regina Geissler, her sister Jackie (Lyndon) Shaw, mother-in-law Catherine Kettler, brother-in-law Alan Kettler as well as her nieces and nephews: Kenneth (Melissa) Shaw, Joel (Michelle) Shaw, Miranda (Jonathan) McRorie, David (Carolyn) Kettler, and Lisa (Terry) Fehr. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Geissler on June 7, 2017 and her father-in-law Hank Kettler June 29, 1985.

Susan graduated from Hazlet High School in June of 1979. Right after school was done, she moved to Swift Current to begin her working career. She worked at various jobs in the food industry, Threadfast, and for the last 15 years cutting and wrapping meat at Superior Meats and Treens Packers. Susan acquired her desire to work at an abattoir from her father as he worked in one for years and had his own equipment on the farm. For a petite woman she could lift and carry 50-pound bags of meat. Small but mighty!

Susan was a great baker and cook. Her Yorkshire Pudding was always a family favourite. Her favourite meal was mashed potatoes and gravy with roast beef and more mashed potatoes and gravy. We are not sure how she stayed so thin with all the mashed potatoes and gravy she could consume in one sitting.

For all that knew Susan you know she was a quiet, private person that was a little bit stubborn (family trait). This served her well when she received her cancer diagnosis in October of 2023 and had to endure the numerous tests, treatments and her eventual physical and mental challenges. On March 26, 2025 she was admitted to Clover House in hopes that she could build up her strength and return home. She put up a good fight but the cancer won. We will miss her dearly and shall treasure all the fond memories we shared.

As per Susan’s wishes, there will be no service.

In Susan’s memory, donations can be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan. (Online: https://www.cancerfoundationsask.ca/donate/ )

The family would like to thank Dr. Flora for her great care and understanding and a Special Thanks to the staff at Clover House for providing Susan with great care and compassion.
