Rocky View Schools has officially opened transportation registration for the 2025-26 school year and is encouraging families to register early to save on fees and ensure a smooth start to the fall.
Families who register by June 30 will receive a $40 discount per student, with additional savings available for multiple children. The deadline to guarantee bus service for the first day of school is August 1. Registrations received after that date could lead to delays of up to three weeks.
RVS transports nearly 13,500 students daily across 324 bus routes, covering nearly 15,000 kilometres each school day. This includes over 2,000 Calgary Catholic School District students who attend schools in Cochrane, Airdrie, and Chestermere.
The division says rising costs, driven by inflation, driver shortages, insurance premiums, and maintenance, have forced a $70 increase to annual transportation fees.
For the 2025-26 year, the standard fee will be $395 per student, or $197.50 for Kindergarten students who ride one way.

To support families, RVS is offering fee waivers for those who qualify and encourages early registration to take advantage of available discounts. A 50 per cent deposit is required at the time of registration, and families have until October 31 to cancel and receive a full refund.
Eligibility for busing depends on the student’s distance from their school, ranging from 1.5 to 2 kilometres based on grade level.
