The Alberta-shot Die, My Love is among the films being presented at the Cannes Film Festival, which got underway yesterday in the south of France.
The dark comedy thriller pairs Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson in a tale about a mother in a remote rural area struggling to maintain her sanity as she battles psychosis.
The ensemble cast also includes Nick Nolte, Sissy Spacek and LaKeith Stanfield.
It marks the return of director Lynne Ramsay after a seven-year absence, following the release of the haunting You Were Never Really Here. Martin Scorsese is among the producers.
The film is based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Argentine writer Ariana Harwicz.
It was shot in Calgary and the surrounding area. Cochrane’s Steven McMichael served as the stunt coordinator and a second-unit director.
The festival continues until May 23.
