Saskatchewan’s Lieutenant Governor met with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace Wednesday.

Lieutenant Governor Bernadette McIntyre who was accompanied by her husband Richar McIntyre, presented the King with gifts described as representative of Saskatchewan.

Lentil and chickpea snacks from the Three Farmers company of Saskatoon. Saskatchewan is a major producer of pulse crops. A jar of Savoury Dill Pickle Mustard from Gravelbourg Mustard. The province is the world’s largest exporter of mustard seed. There was also a green scarf for King Charles and a blue scarf for Queen Camilla, both designed and knit by Mariette Anderson of Gravelbourg from wool produced by the Canadian Fibre Mill located near Caron, Saskatchewan.

King Charlies launched The Campaign for Wool in 2010 to educate the public about the benefits of wool and to grow the wool industry.

In a news release the Lieutenant Governor said it was tremendous privilege to meet King Charles and have a private audience in Buckingham Palace.
