Summer is a demanding time for agricultural producers. So, to support your efforts and help streamline your workload, here’s a few resources to stay up to date this season.
The first resource is our Sask Ag Now E-Newsletter. The Sask Ag Now E-Newsletter is a digital e-newsletter that’s emailed out monthly. It provides agronomic information, updates related to trade and market development, and industry trends. The newsletter includes upcoming events and shares information on programs and services available to producers. To sign up for our e-newsletter, you can visit our website or phone the Ag Knowledge Centre at 1-866-457-2377.
Another great resource during the crop season is the Crop Diagnostic Handbook. This publication is available online, with an updated 2025 version coming soon! This book is a diagnostic tool for producers and agronomists to use in the field covering general agronomy, soils, insects, crop disease, herbicide groups and injuries, environmental stresses and harvest. The book is handed out at Crop Diagnostic School in the summer for attendees as part of their diagnostic kit. However, producers and agronomists are encouraged to view and download the online PDF and print the book themselves if a hard copy is preferred. Limited copies are available in Regional Offices later in the growing season.
You should also check out Saskatchewan’s Dashboard and Crop Report. The Saskatchewan Dashboard is an online tool that gives insight into what’s going on in the province at a local level. The Agriculture and Environment section covers Regional Conditions and Economic Indicators of the province and gives live, up to date information on commodity prices and farming progress in each region. Information generated for Regional Conditions are generated through submissions from Saskatchewan Crop Reporters that help create the Crop Report. To volunteer and sign up as a Crop Reporter for your RM, phone the Ag Knowledge Centre at 1-866-457-2377.
