RCMP investigating multiple break-ins in southeast Saskatchewan

The RCMP is asking for the public's assistance after multiple break-ins over the past two weeks at businesses and community facilities.

Officers are investigating these incidents and still determining if they are connected.

That being said, the RCMP are reminding residents to take steps to deter thefts from businesses and facilities including:

• Consider installing an alarm system that covers the building’s interior and exterior. Ensure that it is always up-to-date and functional.
• Consider installing video surveillance equipment.
• Consider installing a fence with a locking gate, if appropriate.
• Post prominent signage noting the business or facility has an active alarm system and video monitoring in place.
• Ensure outdoor lighting is adequate and always in good working order.
• Ensure doors and windows are securely locked during non-business hours. Door deadlocks and windows bars/film provide extra protection.
• Lock your vehicles and equipment. Don’t leave valuables, tools or keys in them. Park them in well-lit areas while not in use.
• Report crime and suspicious activity to police. When all crimes are reported to the police, police officers get a clearer picture of the types and numbers of crimes occurring in their area. This information helps them launch future police projects, initiatives and education campaigns within the area and the division.

Anyone with information about these break-ins, or who have observed unusual activity in their community, are asked to report it to the RCMP by dialing 310-RCMP.
