Ryan Milne made a brief appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Wednesday to address some outstanding matters so his trial can proceed.

Crown prosecutor Rob Parker told the court the trial had been delayed due to missing disclosure involving medical records. That information has since been provided to Milne’s lawyer, Olamide Ben-Ajayi.

However, as a result, the Crown must re-subpoena a witness for cross-examination.

A continuation date was set for Aug. 5 at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 1. While Judge Brian Hendrickson presided over Wednesday’s appearance, Judge David Chow is seized with the trial proceedings.

Milne is facing charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.

According to police, Milne was arrested on May 30, 2024, following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Thatcher Drive and Highway 1. Police allege the driver of a pickup truck deliberately rear-ended another truck at a high rate of speed and attempted to assault the other driver with a baseball bat.
