Work is set to begin this week on the two-year Glenpatrick Drive infrastructure replacement project, a major overhaul aimed at modernizing roads, pathways, and underground utilities in Cochrane’s Glenbow neighbourhood.

The town says the multi-phase project will stretch along Glenpatrick Drive, from 5th Avenue to the intersection near Glenbow Elementary School. Crews will replace aging water, sewer and stormwater systems — some nearly 50 years old — as well as fully reconstruct the roadway.
The upgrade also includes new sidewalks and pathways to support active transportation, and a new traffic circle near Glenbow School to improve traffic flow and safety.

Construction will be staged to reduce disruption, but the town warns of temporary road, sidewalk and pathway closures, along with detours, signage and parking restrictions. Temporary parking will be made available, and some residents may experience short-term changes to water services or waste collection. All affected homes will be notified in advance.
To minimize disruption at Glenbow School, work in that area is scheduled for the summer months while classes are out. The two-year project is expected to wrap up by fall 2026.
